Daily makeup inspiritation!

Beauty, Bronzer, Eyebrow, Eyeliner, Illuminator, Lipstick, MAC, Makeup, Mascara

Today i’m giving you a little glimpse into my summertime makeup routine. As you know, I am a certified Lipstick nut so the first thing I choose is usually my lipstick then work my other makeup around it. Today I put on a tiny bit more than usual just for the sake of this blog post, but its pretty much on point.

balmshelterpopsunkissedloumacheroineSumita_MiniEyelinerKitmaybeline

I started with “The Balm” Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer in light. This moisturizer also comes in a color even lighter than light that I heard is great for those that are super light. Since I already have some color from the beach the past 2 weekends, I don’t need much more than that for my base. Next, I did “POP beauty” Sunkissed bronzer just over my forehead and cheeks. If I wear it anywhere else I end up having that whole different color neck/face business. I shied away from blush today since my skin is always much redder in the summer. Instead, I opted for Luminizer. Of course I used the “The Balm” Mary-Lou Manizer, which comes in a powder compact and literally makes me glow inside and out! I wish you could hear me squealing every time I write about it. I have my other makeup favorite, Mac Heroine Matte Lipstick on my lips. On my eyes I have both Sumida eyeliner in purple (came in my birchbox) and Earth lights Mascara (picked it up at a farmers market in Paris). Lastly, I used the Maybelline Expert Eye brow pencil to give my brows a little shape and darken them a bit. TA-DA here i am in all my glory. A little different than the queen helene masque picture eh?

Whats in my bag- Lipstick edition!

Beauty, Lipstick, MAC, Makeup

I am a total lipstick junkie. It is actually insane how many lipsticks I carry around with me on a day to day basis. I’ve been wanting to start a “whats in my bag” post, and what better makeup to focus on than my precious lipsticks! I’m trying to avoid reviewing the ones i’ve already written about so i’m leaving a few of my favorites off the list, but check out some of my older posts if you’re interested!

  maclskoreancndy

Mac Korean Candy This color is awesome. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look as flattering on my light skin tone as I expected it to, but its a beautiful color and its one of their Sheen Supremes, which I am crazy about. Its a red/orange color, looks more red in the tube and orange on my lips. It glides on like butter and provides moisture for those days when my lip ecfoliator just isnt cutting it and I know a matte isn’t going to work on my lips that day. For such a moisturizing lipstick, I find it lasts pretty much all day. The lipstick itself is flat and circular as opposed to the normal shape of Mac lipsticks but its super easy to apply and I am not bothered by that at all. I am anxiously awaiting the moody blooms collection to get my hands on some new Sheen Supremes!

RimmelFuschia

Rimmel Back to Fuschia I recently finished my Nars Satin Lip pencil in “Yu” which is an amazing hot pink. I’m not currently in the market for another 25 dollar lip pencil so I figured it’d be easier to just find a drug store dupe, and boy did I ever. I had never tried any of their moisture renew lipsticks before, but I was missing out. The packaging is beautiful and numerous people have mistaken the lipstick for urban decay. It comes in a bright purple mirror plastic with a crown on top, because you feel like a total princess when you wear this! It is a true Fuchsia pink with blue undertones that is pretty much exactly the color I was looking for. I like my lipsticks bright and fun, and Back to Fuchsia is no exception. The lipstick is not drying at all but still comes out matte on the lips and lasts me at least the entire morning. If hot pink isn’t your color they have plenty of other nice colors as well, not as many as Revlon or Maybelline but enough for me!

maybellineverycherry

Maybelline Very Cherry When it comes to drugstore lipsticks, you really cant go wrong with Maybelline. They have been a staple of women’s makeup for so many years and while I am not a fan of all of their products, their lipstick formula is on point. This color is my perfect red. I spent a long time searching (mostly at Sephora and other high end makeup counters) and I happened to try this on when I borrowed it from a friend. There it was, my perfect true red smiling back at me! It looks beautiful on your lips straight out of the tube, but I prefer to put it on with a lip brush because I think it keeps it from bleeding. Finding a good red for your complexion can be tricky, and while this is blue based the color seems to flatter many different complexions.

macdiva3

Mac Diva Ahh, my beloved Matte lipstick. I have literally 5 different matte mac lipsticks floating around my bag at any given time, but I figured id go with one I haven’t obsessed over on here as much as the others! This color is a beautiful deep burgundy. Normally, I wouldn’t go for a color such as this but it matched my dress perfectly for my sisters wedding and I knew I wanted to go full out glam and make that my showstopping moment. I love pretty much all Mac lipsticks, but their matte formula must have been made with me in mind. It is super long lasting and not nearly as drying as I find their retro mattes to be. As with any matte lipstick, a little exfoliation and chap stick (wipe off before you apply the lipstick) goes a long way, especially if its for a special occasion. This color will turn heads and give you that sexy vamp look, but I think it’s better reserved for when the summer months are over. I’m still going to keep it in my bag though, just in case!

Lorealfirey

Loreal Fiery Veil I think this is my only Loreal lipstick I own, but i’m not exactly sure why that is. This color was my first orange and is from the Colour Riche collection. It was more like dipping my toe into the orange trend rather than jumping in head first like I am now. It’s a great lipstick, and it comes in handy for when I want to have orange lips while still looking work appropriate. The lipstick comes in a skinnier tube and glides on so easily. It gives a much more sheer color than any of the previously mentioned lipsticks and could easily be mistaken for a gloss on the lips. Usually I don’t go for the sheer glossy look but this lipstick produces a beautiful color orange that I cant resist. It has a little bit of shimmer to it without that sticky glossy feeling and gives my lips a break from the massive amount of drying I do to them before my Aquaphor regimen at night. For those of you looking for a nice true orange without going over the top, you have met your match.

Passionate about purple!

Beauty, Blush, Eyeshadow, Lipstick, MAC, Makeup

Recently, I’ve been seeing purple popping up all over the place (see the alliteration there) and it is more than worthy of it’s own post! Here are a few ways to rock the purple makeup trend without going too Barney on us.

annasui2

Anna Sui cheek color in mystic rose– this palette is so beautifully packaged, not to mention the actual blush itself is shaped into roses. Regardless, it’s a hefty price tag but I highly reccomend the splurge! I am loving purple blush right now. I actually just ordered some random japanese brand of lilac purple from urban outfitters (random day of free shipping- I can’t stand paying more for shipping than the actual makeup itself) but il let you know how it goes. OK back to the beautiful anna sui blush. This is magical, especially for us fair skinned ladies. It has an incredible glow and comes out almost sheer if you use it lightly or a deep mauve if you build it up. It’s an extremely versatile color and I’ve seen it look totally different on everyone. For those with darker skin, it could work as an illuminizer with a just a hint more color. Either way it is like crack or fairy dust or fairy dust crack .

macvioletta

Mac violetta– I spend a lot of time talking about my heroine lipstick, but I also need to give credit where it’s due. This color is bold and bangin. It makes me feel like a cool 90s chick with a pony tail and spaghetti strap slip. It is a bold neon purple much lighter and brighter than heroine. With it being summer and all, I may have to put the dark colors away for a little and bring out beautiful bright ones like this color. They also come in one of macs palettes of 6 lip colors in “preferred pink” and pretty much every color is on point, not to mention it’s a great deal.

lancomepallette

Lancôme pink envy color design eyeshadow palette– don’t be fooled by the name, this palette is filled with wonderful purples for everyone. Since purple is such a hot color right now, I wouldn’t feel right just telling you one to wear one shade on your lids. This palette comes with 5 different colors. 3 of which are different shades of purple. One is lilac, one is mauve, and one is a bold sparkly deep purple. The other 2 shades are both shades of silver one deep one light and shiny, along with a brush that both lines and applys the shadow. You can’t go wrong with this palette and if you like any of the colors seperately you can buy in a single palette as well. Lancôme has very reliable products and their eyeshadow formula is truly top notch.

MAC Moody Blooms Collection!

Beauty, Blush, Bronzer, Fluid Liner, Limited Edition, Lipstick, MAC, Makeup, Moody Blooms

This is the post I have most been looking forward to! As you may know, I am a MAC junkie as i’m sure plenty of you are too. This collection is to be released on June 26th in the U.S but I WANT IT NOW! As with all limited edition MAC collections, I am sure the best items will sell out super fast so it’s good to have an idea of what you like from the collection so you can pounce when it’s released!

moodybloomsshadow

Mac Moody Blooms Eye shadows- This collection is blowing me away. I don’t usually use many MAC eye shadows, not for any specific reasons but I tend to stick with what I know. For this collection, I will be heading straight out of my comfort zone and straight to the MAC counter. They are releasing 6 colors, 4 of which are the Veluxe Pearl textures. They are Artistic License (a shimmery peach) Lucky Green (a shimmery apple green) Deep Fixation (shimmery burgundy) and Hidden Motive (deep plum). The other 2 shadows include Blooming Mad (a purple frost) and Green room (a jungle green satin) Each of these colors are BEAUTIFUL. I usually know exactly which products I want from a collection but I would take any of the eye shadows I can get. I can not wait to try these shadows and I will provide an updated review as soon as I can get my hands on them!

macfluidline

Mac Moody Blooms Fluidline- I’m not really an avid fluidline user but I know many MAC babes love liquid liner! The 3 shades they are releasing are as follows. Copperthorne (a shimmy copper,as the name suggest), Black Ivy (just looks like black from the pictures and swatches I saw) and Nightshade which is a purple/burgundy color. For those who love liquid liners, it looks like you’re in for a treat with this collection

moodybloomssheene

MAC Moody Blooms Sheen Supreme Lipstick- I have heard from a few people that they’re disappointed MAC isn’t releasing any of their standard lipsticks with this collection. It looks like they are focusing solely on Sheen Supreme lipsticks which makes me happy because I think they deserve a lot more exposure then they get! The colors are as follows. Moody Bloom (Looks like a dark nude/ light brownish color but I really cant tell how it will look on the lips) Phosphorescent (gorgeous cotton candy pink that reminds me of Candy Yum Yum in the swatches) Pheromonal (hot pink/ magenta) Quite the thing (a bluish pink) Lust extract (a purple/fuschia color- my favorite of the bunch!) and Venomous Violet (a deep dark violet, probably not for the faint of heart)

moodyliptint

Mac Moody Blooms Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tint- I am usually not a fan of Mac lipglass but it seems like they are trying out a new formula! I’ve noticed with the Sharon Osbourne for Mac collection that they came out with those marker lipsticks, so maybe they’re trying to find the next new lippie innovation. They remind me of the Stila lip gloss in that they come in a little tube with a brush and you twist the bottom to release more product. Either way, these look awesome and I’m anxious to try them! The colors are as follows. Simply wow (plum/pink), Bubble gum (light pink), Glorious Intent (shimmery purple), Blushing Berry (a deep mauve) and Gwo-yo-mi (A fuschia pink) Obviously these colors will come out lighter than they appear due to the sheer nature of the lipglass but they all look beautiful!

moodyblush

Mac Moody Blooms Powder Blush- I also love Mac blush so I am equally as excited for some new choices! Bred for Beauty (a true matte bubble gum pink) is more on the blush spectrum while Worldly wealth (a frosty bronze) looks much more like a bronzer! I can never tell with MAC colors how it will swatch based on the color in the pan, but again I will update you as soon as I am able to try the products!

moodymascara

Mac False Lashes Mascara and 2  new brushes- I’m not sure what exactly is new about this mascara since I have seen this name before (Mac tends to recycle names a few years later with their collections, I have no idea why) but the packaging looks slightly different. The tube is shaped so there is a handle on the wand for better precision but if this is just another release on the colored False Lashes Mascara from 2013, I am on board since those have an awesome clump free formula! The new 211 brush would pair great with with the Fluidline. The 239 brush is perfect for any of the new eyeshadows, a great excuse to pick up a brush as well!

The Lip Product Addict Tag!

Beauty, Lipstick, Makeup

Naturally, I borrowed this from a fellow blogger sarah loves makeup because I am a total lipstick nut! I couldnt have found a more perfect post that excites me a little bit TOO much! Here goes nothing

 avenecoldcream

 1. Favorite balm/treatment – My current favorite treatment would have to be Avene Cold Cream Lip Balm. This brand is one of my current obsessions. I started with one of their moisturizers for my super dry skin and I knew I had to have more of their products. It has a cooling effect on the lips but without any of that tingling or burning and it really does keep them fresh and revitalized, even with all the matte lipstick I use! It comes in a squeeze tube as opposed to a balm which  makes the product go a little faster, but even so I prefer the squeeze tube.

 maybelinered

2. Favorite Eye-Catching Red – Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Very Cherry. Come to think of it, this was one of my very first red lipsticks. When I first started out with makeup I wasn’t too into lipstick, but once I started wearing this shade I realized just exactly how much lipstick can brighten up your entire face. This color is the perfect red for me. It starts more red and as time goes on turns a slight hot pink/reddish stain. No need to break the bank to find your perfect red!

 narssatinlip

3. Best Luxury – All of my NARS Satin Lip Pencils! As any avid reader may have noticed, I love them and hoard them any chance I get! They are the absolute top of the line in lip products as far as i’m concerned and i’m only waiting for NARS to release more colors!

 revlonlustrious

4. Best Drugstore – I honestly think there are a lot of great drugstore lipsticks out there. Depending on who you ask, many people have their preference and have probably been that way for years. For me, it will always be Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick. They glide on creamy, come in all different beautiful shades, and once in a while they come around with some kick ass limited edition packaging that I can never resist! I also must give a shout out to my beloved Rimmel London, even though I am not currently on a Rimmel Kick they will always bring back fond memories and I highly recommend any of their Lipsticks as well!

 macsushikiss

5. Best Mac Lipstick – Sushi Kiss hands down! If you asked me this a few months ago, I probably would have plead the 5th because I love and covet so many mac lipsticks in all different colors and textures. I had been on the hunt for the perfect bright fun and peachy color and I found all that and more. I love the texture, the color, the staying power, everything about this color is just perfect!

 occliptar

6. Most Disappointing – Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tars! I know I already knocked them in my last post on my most disappointing products so I hope their CEO doesn’t end up at my door later. This product looks so beautiful on all the models (They only use Drag Queens as their models which I love because they all look freakin fierce) but it just isn’t what I thought it would be. It applies wet and doesn’t dry the way I expected it to. It kind of just sinks into my lips and then cracks and peels off and way too much product comes out of the tube when you apply it. I think you’re supposed to apply it in conjunction with a clear top coat they sell, but for an extra 18 bucks i’l have to pass. Factor the mini lip brush in there, and you have yourself one big mess of lip tar.

 macspiceliner

7. Liner? – I haven’t been using much lip liner lately, but Mac will always be my go to. Mac Spice Lip Liner will always be a classic and I really don’t think you can go wrong with it. Everyone should have a nude/brownish lip liner in their makeup case and for some reason Spice seems to work on mostly every person I’ve seen it on.

sephore lip stain

8. Best Gloss – Meh, I really hate lip gloss. I’m going to bend the rules on this one a little bit and go for Sephora lip stain since it technically comes in a gloss like bottle and has a gloss like wand! These stains are awesome. They stay on your lips through everything and every one ive tried comes out gorgeous on the lips. They are not drying or flaky and if i’m not having a lipstick day (that hardly ever happens) it’s nice to have a Sephora lip stain on hand that I know can get the job done.

macsheenesupreme

 9. Something Extra – Cant have a full post on lips without giving two more shoutouts to products I love! Mac Sheen Supreme lipsticks are absolutely awesome and totally underrated! The Mac Moody Blooms collection is coming out on June 26th and they have 5 new sheen supremes that sound AWESOME being released with the collection. Also, Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain is a true winner in my book. Sometimes I will put them under my lipsticks if I know I wont be able to touch up for a long period of time because they provide long lasting color almost all day. They truly do stain your lips, and the color Romantic literally does look like you were just locking lips for the past hour! Throw a little blush on and you have the perfect post-rendezvous look!

Beauty Products I Regret Purchasing!

Beauty, Blush, Lipstick, Makeup, Mascara

 macflatoutfab

Mac Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick- Before everyone kills me, I LOVE MAC, I always have and I always will. For this reason alone, I feel I have the right to say that I am not a fan of the retro matte! I’m not sure if its the formula or just this specific lipsticks (ive had weird instances where i’ve bought a 2nd tube of a lipstick I loved from Mac and it will feel slightly different in texture) but this is the only retro matte I own and I am NOT a fan. The color is beautiful, but the lipstick tugs at my lips super hard, flakes almost right away, and is ridiculously drying. Most of my Mac lipsticks, even my mattes, tend to me at least slightly moisturizing, but not this one. It goes on thick and dry and makes my lips feel like they need to be bathed in Aquaphor!

maybellinelashstil

Maybelline New York Lash Stilletto Ultimate Length Mascara- When it comes to mascara, I focus solely on length. I have come to the sad conclusion that my lashes will never be dark and mysterious, and I am okay with that. What I am NOT okay with is this mascara. The wand is super long and skinny. I assumed this would be to my advantage but all it does is clump your eyelashes together into little groups. It gave me those gross dark thick goopy lashes that no one wants to sit across the table from. I tried it out a couple of times since I hate letting products go to waste and after a few times it was already all dried up and clumpy. This is one of those drugstore products that just can’t compare to high end.

occliptar

OCC Lip Tar- Oh, how I wanted to like this product. It was all there, beautiful bold colors, cruelty free, matte, and quirky! I wasn’t so keen on the idea of the lip brush but I figured it was worth a shot. I was wrong. I expected the lip tar to be a light creamy liquid that turns matte on your lips. Instead it was a thick goopy mess that only turned the tiny lip brush they gave me into an even bigger mess.It felt wet on my lips for the full hour I wore it until I couldn’t stand it anymore. It peeled off in clumpy chunks on my lips and I couldn’t even get it to look even and line my lips. It literally look like a sploch of paint flew at me and hit me in the lips, not the look I was going for.

elftocrop

ELF HD Blush- This was one of those products that didn’t break the bank, but it was still extremely disappointing. I was going through a cream blush phase when I bought this because I was trying to avoid buying the Perricone MD No Blush Blush (Also on my beauty wishlist but that’s another post for another day!) The first one I bought had a defective pump, but I didn’t let that get me down. Once my second one arrived it had a nice consistency to it, but that’s where it ends. With just a tiny pump of the Diva color that I got, it pumps out enough for 10 uses (seriously). There is pretty much no way to put this on without looking like a clown. It is so ridiculously over pigmented that it’s just a disaster waiting to happen. Even the woman at the store had no answer for me when I inquired about how to get less product out of the tube and why I looked like a crazy old lady. I usually love ELF products so don’t let this deter you, just steer clear of this blush unless you plan on being the clown at your nephews birthday party.

wetnwild

Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Color- I am all for a good cheap lipstick! In fact, I think out of every beauty product that one is the easiest to get at a high quality for a low price. With this lipstick being only 2 dollars at my local CVS, I grabbed one on a day when I forgot my lipstick bag at home (the horror!) Lets just say I ended up not even wearing a lip color, that’s how bad it was. I wasn’t expecting much for the price, but this is terrible. It is very odd shaped circle so it makes it hard to apply in the first place. It goes on your lips tight and extremely dry. It literally pulls your lip as you apply it and bleeds all over, even in conjunction with a lipliner. I honestly can not see anyone enjoying wearing this lipstick.

My product wish list!

Beauty, Bronzer, Illuminator, Lipstick, Makeup, One Step Correct

stillaonestep

Stila One Step Correct This product has been on my wish list for some time but I swore to myself I would finish up all my other similar products first! It comes in a swirly pump with the colors green brown mixed together. I think this product is perfect for the daytime as a standalone. It does a great job at reducing redness and makes my skin appear smooth and even. The texture feels like a moisturizer and sinks right in. It seems to act a primer as well and is the perfect base to throw on some bronzer and blush.

laurabody

Laura Mercier Baked Body Bronzer This product just screams shimmer straight from the pan. I’m usually not a fan of baked bronzers but this one has me hooked. It’s a little pricey coming in around 55 but I must say it is a huge compact. This bronzer is perfect for the all over sun kissed and shimmery glow. Not to mention it’s a body bronzer so you can brush it all over yourself, can’t beat that!

mactarttrendy

Mac Tart & Trendy Lipstick I am a huge mac buff and I’m obsessed with all things orange so why wouldn’t I want to get my hands on every orange lipstick they make. I currently rock Morange all the time but this color is screaming my name! A girl can never have too many lipsticks, especially MAc ones!

kogendo

Koh Gen Do illuminatior I got this as a an 100 point gift from the Sephora website and it ended up lasting me over a month. Not until I went to my local Sephora to purchase it did I realize it was 40 dollars and I just couldn’t squeeze it. However, this brand is up there with the best. Recently I’ve been loving japanese makeup brands and koh gen do is awesome and has some really interesting products. This illuminatior literally makes me look like an angel. It gives the perfect amount of sheen to liven you up and you hardly have to use any product. It’s a shiny liquid that I liked to mix with my foundation to give myself an all over glow. If you’re looking to splurge on a liquid luminizer, this is it.

limecrime

Limecrime Velvetines Lip Gloss I don’t actually know how I don’t own one of these yet, but of all the products on this list I am most likely to purchase a Velvetines. I see these “glosses” on blogs all the time and from the looks of it they are not glossy at all. It comes with a standard lip gloss wand but on the lips they literally do look like velvet. They only have 3 colors currently but both the coraland the red that I’ve seen are stunning. They look like they might be a bit drying but based on what I’ve heard that is not the case. This will be my first Limecrime purchase so il keep you guys updated!

The perfect orange lip!

Beauty, Lipstick, Makeup

I am a huge fan of the orange lip, especially for summer. Recently we have seen orange lips popping up all over the place, especially on the red carpet. This is one trend I am all about!

 macmorange

MAC Morange Mac Morange is my go to orange for sure! When I first went orange hunting, I headed straight for my local MAC Counter. I tried on a few different shades (I swear according to MAC there’s like 10 different shades of orange) This lipstick is an Amplified Cream. I actually purchased a few other Amplified Creams after this one. The texture glides on smooth while still looking like a true orange, dare I say even have some matte to it. It is a true bright orange, and definitely a little on the wild side. If you are looking for a real bright in your face orange to take this trend on head first, you have met your match!

 narsredsquare

NARS Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil– This color is more of an orange red, but it still tilts more towards the orange side. In my opinion, It is a much more wearable shade for every day. I know I talk about these pencils all the time, because they’re THAT good. This one is part of the velvet matte line, and it pulls a little bit tough when being put on your lips. There’s something slightly missing when it comes to application to make it an absolute 10. However, the color is stunning and it ends up looking beautiful on the lips. Whenever I wear this shade, I catch myself oogling my reflection in the mirror. It’s still on the orange trend while producing the mysteriousness of a fiery red.

revloncoral

Revlon Hot Coral I am a huge fan of the Classic Revlon Lipsticks. They glide on like butter, have amazing staying power, beautiful colors, and are high quality at a drugstore price. This color is pretty much exactly what it sounds. A hot orange coral! It comes out beautiful on the lips, keeping them smooth and hydrating and pulling off the trend seamlessly. This is the best bet for trying to pull off Orange without breaking the bank!

narsorange

Nars Timanfaya Satin Lip Pencil How could I do a post on orange without mentioning this Lip Pencil? Like Morange, it is a true, in your face Orange. The Satin Lip Pencils tend to glide on easier than the Velvet ones, which I feel like is the only difference between the two. It gives me that smooth perfect precision that I look for in a lipstick, but have found in a lip pencil. They can also be used as a lipliner, so you can use it in conjunction with the other lipsticks mentioned and still get a beautiful orange!

All about EYEBROWS

Eyebrow, Makeup

Eyebrows are for sure one of the latest crazes. Historically, a bold dark eyebrow comes and goes with the times, but with people like Cara Delevigne and Lilly Collins gracing the cover of our magazines, people are going crazy for a stand out brow. At first, it was a tough bandwagon to jump on with my light eyebrows but with the proper amount of research I found the foolproof ways to hop on the eyebrow train!

benefitgimme

Benefit Gimmebrow This is currently my first choice on the list. It comes in two shades, one for blondes and one for brunettes. If you have a super dark brow, it might not be dark enough but if you’re on the lighter end of the spectrum, it should be perfect. According to Benefit, the spoolie brush grabs onto the fibers on your hairs and fills in the patchy spots. The wand resembles a mascara brush but it is cone shaped and much smaller to go with the shape of the eyebrow. Even if you overdo it with the brush, all you need to do is blend and it’s basically foolproof. Benefit seems to always be ahead of the crowd with their innovative new products, and this product further proves it!

maybeline

Maybelline expert wear brow and eye pencil My Co-worker turned me onto this pencil and I haven’t looked back since. It comes 2 in a packet for about 4 dollars which is amazing, especially considering how great the product works and that i’m constantly losing small things like pencils. I am NOT and I repeat NOT an eyebrow pencil person. I tend to get those crazy lines and dark eyebrows that make me look, well, frightening. With this pencil, none of that. I hardly ever have to sharpen it (I know sharpening can be a big turn off for some consumers) and it goes on flawlessly. It almost looks like a lead pencil to me, so I can tell the color is light enough to go with my skin tone. Definitely not something I would have picked up on my own, but I am glad I found it!

macbrowset

Mac Brow Set This collection is new to Mac. I guess they saw the eyebrow trend was taking over and couldn’t resist jumping on it. It reminds me alot of the gimmebrow with the same mascara wand but a different formula and the wand is slightly larger. It also has more color options for those of you who don’t find a perfect match in either of Benefits 2 shades. They also have a clear one if you’re into that just to tame your brows. I personally use the “girl boy” which is described as a fawn blonde and I love it. It’s a slightly ashy color but it looks so natural on my face. Give it a try at your local Mac counter and let me know what you think since there’s currently not nearly enough reviews online!

My favorite Mac Lipsticks!

Lipstick

Mac has and always will be one of my all time favorite makeup brands. Between the packaging, the array of products, and all the limited edition releases they really know how to keep a girl on her toes! Since you will be seeing a lot of mac on the blog, I figured id start with the basics of my favorite mac lipsticks

macsushikiss

Mac Sushi Kiss (Satin Finish)- This color isn’t really for the faint of heart. It’s a mix between coral and peach but its bright and the tanner your skin the more it will stand out. That being said, the color is drop dead gorgeous. It really is one of those rare colors that I don’t know any dupes for. It took me a while to find my perfect peach but with this lipstick, I have finally found it.

macasianflower

Mac Asian Flower (Sheen Supreme)- This lipstick is part of the less publicized sheen supreme collection. Mac will actually be releasing their Moody Blooms collection on June 26th, which will introduce us to at least 5 more new Sheen Supremes. Don’t say you didnt read it here first! I actually saw Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars wearing this lipstick at an event so I instagrammed her makeup artist for the color. It looks more purple on her tan skin and tends to lean more pinkie purple on mine, but either way the color is beautiful. It produces a nice glossy shine without being over the top. Trust, for me to stray from Matte it takes a lot!

macheroine2

Mac Heroine (Matte)- I spoke about this in my must have products because it really is my go to. It is the ultimate Vibrant purple and I am currently all about purple. It is definitely a little bold as I tend to be with lipstick but anyone who ever borrows it is always impressed with how wearable it ends up being. For some reason everyone gravitates towards it when borrowing my lipsticks. It’s the telltale story of intimidating in the tube but awesome on your lips. I will never stop recommending Heroine (the lipstick).

Mac Diva (Matte)- I wore this color to my sisters wedding, and it hasn’t left my side since. It’s a dark rich Burgundy that goes perfectly with a glam evening out. I would say its the ultimate vampy red. With Diva and a few extra coats of mascara, it really inspires me to bring out my inner pin up. This color really can be worn by any skintone, providing its at the right time. I wouldn’t suggest it for a day at the beach but it is one of my winter staples for sure.
